# Screen-size behaviour

Signal's layout adjusts at a few screen widths. This page lists what changes at each one.

### Breakpoints

| Breakpoint               | Applies to          | What changes                                                                                                                                |

| Below 768px (phone)      | Whole app           | The sidebar becomes a top bar and bottom tabs (Home, Assets, Customers, Docs).                                                              |
| Below 768px (phone)      | Empire View         | The summary strip, Map and Split views, Export, Bulk Import, and column customizer all hide. The bulk action bar's Export CSV also hides.   |
| Below 768px (phone)      | Customers           | The summary strip, the Unmatched Sales queue, the Export button, and the card/table toggle all hide. The list always shows cards.           |
| Below 768px (phone)      | Dashboard           | The mobile Home screen replaces the desktop Dashboard: no orientation cards or Spare Sales widget; the Hunting List is limited to 10 items. |
| 768px to 1023px (tablet) | Whole app           | The sidebar shows, but starts collapsed to icons only.                                                                                      |
| 1024px and up (desktop)  | Whole app           | The sidebar shows and starts expanded with labels.                                                                                          |
| Below 1280px             | Empire View toolbar | Button labels (Export, Bulk Import, Table/Map/Split) hide; only icons and their tooltips show.                                              |
| 1280px and up            | Dashboard           | The Hunting List and Spare Sales cards sit side by side. Below this width they stack.                                                       |
| Below about 1180px       | Visit Planning      | The three-pane planner (Suggested visits, Week grid, Stop brief) scrolls horizontally instead of fitting all three panes on screen.         |

### Notes

* Whether the sidebar is collapsed or expanded is not saved between visits. It resets to the default for your screen size each time you open Signal.
