# Step 2: enter the baseline

The second step sets the yearly baseline revenue you expect from each installed asset, before adjusting for duty.

### Method

**Flat $ / yr** is the only method available. **Install count × rate** and **Benchmark** are shown as chips marked **Soon** and cannot be chosen yet.

### Installed assets

Signal shows a read-only count of installed assets matched to this line, with a badge reading "auto · Empire View". While your catalog is still loading, a note says the count may grow.

### Baseline field

Enter a dollar amount in **$ Baseline / asset / yr**, for example **1850**. The field moves in steps of 50. If you leave it at zero or blank when you click **Continue** or **Apply potential**, Signal shows "Enter a baseline above $0".

If the line has reference benchmark text on file, Signal shows it in an info box on this step.

### Example

A line with 40 installed assets and a baseline of $1,850 per asset per year models to 40 × $1,850 = $74,000 per year once you apply a duty factor of 1.0 in the next step.
