# Model aftermarket potential with the wizard

The Set Aftermarket Potential wizard models the yearly parts and service revenue you should expect from an installed line. It works through four steps: scope, baseline, duty factor, then review and apply. Open it from a product line's detail rail by clicking **Set potential with the wizard**, or **Refine with the potential wizard** if a potential is already set.

### Overview

The wizard title reads "Set Aftermarket Potential - {line name}". A stepper across the top shows four chips: **Scope**, **Baseline**, **Adjustments**, **Review & apply**. A completed step gets a green check and is clickable; steps you have not reached yet are disabled, so you move forward with **Continue** only.

The footer shows "Step {n} of 4", a **Back** button from step 2 onward, **Continue** on steps 1 through 3, and **Apply potential** on step 4.

### Live preview

A live preview rail stays visible across every step. It shows the running total as a yearly figure, the formula behind it (installed assets × baseline × duty factor), and a "Modeled revenue mix" breakdown: 55% spare parts, 30% service kits, 15% repairs. This split is fixed and does not change with your inputs.

For example, 40 installed assets at a $1,850 baseline and a standard duty factor of 1.0 model to 40 × $1,850 × 1.0 = $74,000 per year.

### The four steps

* [Step 1: choose the scope](/products-line-card/model-aftermarket-potential-with-the-wizard/step-1-choose-the-scope.md): whole product line or per variant (per variant is line-level for now).
* [Step 2: enter the baseline](/products-line-card/model-aftermarket-potential-with-the-wizard/step-2-enter-the-baseline.md): a flat dollar amount per asset per year; other methods are marked Soon.
* [Step 3: apply a duty factor](/products-line-card/model-aftermarket-potential-with-the-wizard/step-3-apply-a-duty-factor.md): adjust the baseline for how hard the equipment runs.
* [Step 4: review and apply](/products-line-card/model-aftermarket-potential-with-the-wizard/step-4-review-and-apply.md): see the totals and roll them out across Signal.
