# Add a product line

Add a product line when you start representing a new brand or product family that is not yet on your line card.

### Steps

1. On the **Products** page, click **Add Product Line**.
2. Enter the line details.
3. Click **Create product line**. The dialog closes, the new line is selected in the table, and a toast confirms it was created.

### Field reference

| Brand          | Yes      | Choose a brand chip, or choose **Other** and type a brand name. | Brand chips list brands already on your installed assets, most-installed first. |
| Equipment type | Yes      | Type the equipment type, for example "Metering Pump".           | Signal suggests equipment types already used on your assets as you type.        |
| Order types    | Yes      | Choose **Configured**, **ETO**, or both.                        | **Configured** is selected by default.                                          |

### What you see

A note in the dialog reads "Installed assets link automatically from Empire View once serials match." You do not link assets to the line yourself.

If your organization's asset catalog is still loading and no brands are known yet, the Brand field shows "Brand catalog still syncing from Empire View…" instead of brand chips.

### Notes

* This feature may not be enabled for your organization. Ask your Zephyr Intel contact.
* Leaving a required field blank shows "Required" under Line name or Equipment type, "Select a brand" or "Enter a brand name" under Brand, and "Select at least one order type" under Order types.
* If saving fails, the dialog shows the server's message, or "Failed to create product line." if none is given.
