# Read the catalog loading bar

Signal loads your full equipment catalog into the app so pages open instantly once it is ready. A thin bar at the top of the page shows its progress.

### What the bar shows

The text changes as loading progresses:

* **"Loading asset catalog…"**: nothing has loaded yet.
* **"Loading asset catalog… {number} loaded"**: some records have loaded, and Signal does not yet know the total.
* **"Loading asset catalog: {loaded} of {total}"** with a percentage and a progress bar: Signal knows the total and is filling it in.

The bar disappears on its own once loading finishes.

### Why counts grow after sign-in

Right after you sign in, Signal starts pulling your organization's equipment records in batches. The loaded count climbs quickly for a few seconds until it reaches the total. This is expected and does not need any action from you.

### Notes

* Signal keeps refreshing the catalog in the background after the initial load, even if you switch to another browser tab, so your data stays current without reloading the page.
