# Welcome to Signal

Signal is a web app from Zephyr Intel that shows distributors of pumps and rotating equipment what is installed in the field, who owns it, and where to focus sales and service attention.

> **Screenshot placeholder:** desktop view of Signal on the Dashboard with the sidebar expanded so every menu item is visible, light mode.

### What Signal does

Signal brings together your installed equipment, your customers, and (where connected) your aftermarket parts sales into one place. It tracks each piece of equipment by serial number, brand, model, type, customer and facility, and uses that data to flag which customers to call next.

### The main areas

* [Dashboard](/dashboard.md): your daily summary: equipment totals, a ranked call list, and recent parts sales.
* **Empire View**: the full catalog of installed equipment, as a table and a map. On a phone, the bottom tab for this area is labeled **Assets**.
* [Customers](/customers.md): the organizations you sell and service equipment for, and their facilities.
* [Documents](/documents.md): manuals and other files, linked to customers and equipment serial numbers.
* [Analytics](/analytics.md): aftermarket sales trends. This area may not be enabled for your organization.
* **Products**: your line card, the brands and product lines you represent, with modeled aftermarket potential. This area may not be enabled for your organization.
* [Visit Planning](/visit-planning.md): a weekly plan of customer visits built from account signals. This area may not be enabled for your organization.
* **Org Admin**: organization and user management, visible only to Zephyr Intel staff.

### Where to start

Sign in and Signal opens on the Dashboard. It greets you by name and lists what needs your attention that day. From there, use the sidebar or bottom tabs to reach Empire View, Customers or Documents. The rest of this Getting started section covers signing in and what controls what you can see.
