# Sign in with Microsoft

Signal uses your organization's Microsoft account for sign-in. Use this the first time you open Signal and every time your session has expired.

> **Screenshot placeholder:** the Signal sign-in card showing **Continue with Microsoft** and the hint "Access is provisioned by your organization."

### Steps

1. Open Signal in your browser. The sign-in card shows the Signal heading and the subtitle "Sign in to continue".
2. Click **Continue with Microsoft**.
3. Choose your work account in the Microsoft sign-in screen and enter your password if asked.
4. Wait while Signal signs you in. You see "Redirecting to Microsoft…", then "Authenticating…", then "Loading workspace…" before your Dashboard appears.

### What you see

Under the button, Signal shows the hint "Access is provisioned by your organization." Access to Signal is set up by your organization's administrator, not by creating your own account.

### Notes

* If sign-in fails, the button changes to **Try again with Microsoft** and an error message appears above it. See Fix sign-in problems for what each message means.
* Signal has one sign-in method. There is no separate username and password for Signal itself.
