# Select rows

Select assets in the table before you run a bulk action, such as changing status, archiving, duplicating or exporting.

### Steps

1. Click the checkbox in a row to select that asset. Click it again to deselect it.
2. Click the checkbox in the table header to select or deselect every asset on the current page.
3. Turn to another page if you need to. Your selection stays in place. The header checkbox only affects the page you are viewing, not your full selection.
4. Click **Clear selection** (the X next to the count) in the action bar to deselect everything at once.

### What you see

Once you select at least one asset, a floating bar appears at the bottom of the screen showing "{n} selected" and the actions available to your account.

### Notes

* Clicking anywhere else in a row opens the Quick View panel instead of selecting the row. Use the checkbox to select.
* Change Status, Archive, Promote and Restore act on every asset in your selection, even ones on pages you are not currently viewing. Export CSV only includes selected assets that are on the page you are viewing when you click it.
