# Filter with the Filter Builder

The Filter Builder narrows the asset list by status, brand, equipment type, customer and date. Use it when a search alone is not specific enough.

### Steps

1. Click **Filters** in the toolbar. The badge shows how many filters are active.
2. Set any of the fields below. The list updates as you choose values.
3. Click the X on a field, or on its pill in the toolbar, to remove that filter.
4. Click **Clear all**, in the panel or the toolbar, to remove filters. See Notes for the difference.

### Filter fields

| Field               | What it does                                              | Notes                                                                                                                                   |

| **Status**          | Choose one or more operating statuses.                    | Shows only statuses on at least one asset, with a count.                                                                                |
| **Brand**           | Choose one or more brands.                                | Searchable, with a count per brand.                                                                                                     |
| **Equipment Type**  | Choose one or more equipment types.                       | Searchable, with a count per type.                                                                                                      |
| **Customer**        | Choose one or more customer organizations.                | Searchable.                                                                                                                             |
| **Install Date**    | Date range for when the asset was installed.              | Presets **Last 30 days**, **Last 90 days**, **Last year**, **Last 3 years**, or **Custom range**. Excludes assets with no install date. |
| **Last Spare Sale** | Date range for the asset's last recorded spare-part sale. | Same presets. See Filter by Last Spare Sale for how it behaves.                                                                         |

Choosing more than one value within a field matches any of those values. Values in different fields must all match.

### Notes

* The toolbar's **Clear all** resets every filter, your search text, and the Drafts/Archived toggle.
* The Filter Builder's **Clear all** resets filters but keeps your search text, and removes any filters that arrived from a link on another page.
* Every active filter shows as a toolbar pill with its own X, except a facility filter from another page, which only shows in the Filter Builder's count.
