# Work with the map

The map shows where your customers' assets are located, so you can spot geographic patterns that a table does not show as easily.

### How pins work

Each pin represents a customer's address, not an individual asset's exact location. When a customer has several assets, they stack into one numbered cluster at that customer's pin. Click a cluster to zoom in on it.

The map only plots assets on the current page of the table, up to 50 assets. Change filters, sorting or the page to change what the map shows.

Click a pin to open the Quick View panel for that asset. The selected asset's pin appears larger than the others.

### Reading the legend

The legend explains what each pin color means:

* Online asset
* Offline or out of service
* Abandoned or unknown
* Removed asset
* A numbered cluster of pins

### Fitting the map to your results

Click **Fit to results** in the top-left of the map to zoom and center the map on every pin currently shown.

### When you see "No coordinates yet"

If the current page has assets but none of them have a geocoded customer address yet, the map shows a banner: "No coordinates yet" with the message "{n} asset(s) loaded. Pins appear once customer addresses are geocoded." Dismiss the banner with its X.

### Notes

* The map's background imagery depends on your organization's configuration. Some organizations see a lighter or darker style than others; the map always follows your light or dark theme setting.
