# Upload documents

Upload one file or a whole batch to add manuals, datasheets, drawings, certificates or photos to the hub.

### Steps

1. On the **Documents** tab, click **Upload**.
2. Drag files into the drop zone, or click it to browse your computer. You can add up to 50 files in one batch.
3. To use one type for every file, check **Apply same type to all files** and enter the type once. Otherwise, set **Document Type** on each file's card.
4. Optionally set **Customer** and **Asset Serial Numbers** on each file to link it to a customer and specific assets.
5. Click **Upload {n} File(s)**.

### What you see

Each file gets its own progress bar and percentage while it uploads. Up to three files upload at the same time. A file that fails shows the error and a **Retry** link; a file that succeeds shows "Uploaded". When you upload more than one file, an "Overall progress" bar shows the batch total.

The dialog closes on its own once every file succeeds. Each document's title is set to its file name.

### Notes

Signal accepts PDF, Word, Excel, CSV and image files (JPG, PNG, GIF, SVG). A batch above 50 files is rejected with "Too many files. Maximum 50 per batch."
