# Upload a model manual

Add a manual once for a brand and model so every matching asset can see it.

> **Screenshot placeholder:** the **Model Manuals** tab with the **Upload Model Manual** form (Brand, Model Code, Manual File) above the manuals table.

### Steps

1. Open **Documents**, then click the **Model Manuals** tab.
2. In the **Upload Model Manual** form, select a **Brand**. Options come from the brands recorded on your assets.
3. Select a **Model Code**. This list is disabled until you select a brand, and it only shows model codes seen on assets of that brand.
4. Click **Manual File** and choose the file.
5. Click **Upload Manual**.

### What you see

A success message reads "Uploaded model manual for {brand} / {modelCode}." Changing the brand after selecting a model code clears the model code, since the two are matched together.

### Notes

Signal accepts the same file types as document uploads: PDF, Word, Excel, CSV and image files (JPG, PNG, GIF, SVG).

If you try to upload without selecting a brand, a model code and a file, Signal shows "Brand, model code, and file are required." If the upload fails for another reason, it shows "Upload failed." or a message from the server.
