# Understand the orientation cards

The three cards at the top of the Dashboard summarize your install base and link to the underlying lists.

> **Screenshot placeholder:** the three orientation cards (Total Equipment, Customers, Needs Attention) on the desktop Dashboard, light mode, with real numbers.

### What each card shows

| Card | Big number | Subtext | Click takes you to |
| ------------------- | ----------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Total Equipment** | Total assets in your organization | Number and percentage that are Online | Empire View, your full asset catalog |
| **Customers** | Number of customers in your organization | Total facilities across those customers | Customers |
| **Needs Attention** | Assets with no spare-parts sale on record | "assets with no spare parts activity" | Empire View, pre-filtered to assets with no spare sales |

### Notes

* A customer with no facilities listed still counts as one facility in the Customers subtext.
* Needs Attention counts an asset only when Signal has never matched a spare-parts sale to its serial number. If your organization's sales data has not been connected, this count reflects install records only.
* If your organization's summary numbers haven't loaded yet, Total Equipment and Needs Attention briefly show a dash instead of a number. Customers still shows a number because it comes from data already loaded in Signal.
