# Merge duplicate customers

Merge two customer records when the same company appears twice in your customer list. The customer whose page you open keeps its record; the other one's data moves into it.

Merging moves all assets, contacts, and facilities from the source customer into the target, and soft-deletes the source. If you merge the wrong records, ask your Zephyr Intel contact within 30 days. After that the merge cannot be undone.

### Steps

1. On the customer's page you want to keep, click **Merge**.
2. Search for and select the customer to merge in, then click **Next**.
3. Review the preview: the number of assets, contacts, and facilities that will move, and any facilities that will be reassigned. Click **Continue**.
4. Type the source customer's name exactly as shown, to confirm.
5. Click **Merge Customer**. The button reads **Merging...** while the merge runs.
6. Click **Done**.

### What you see

Signal shows **"Merge complete"** and confirms that the source customer has been merged into the target. The source customer no longer appears in your customer list.

### Notes

* The list of customers you can search when picking a source only includes the 100 customers with the highest opportunity scores. If the duplicate you are looking for is not in that group, it will not appear in search results.
* **Merge Customer** stays disabled until the text you type matches the source customer's name exactly.
* If the merge fails, Signal shows **"Merge failed. Please try again."**
