# Add a new customer

Add a new customer to create a record for a company you work with. Use this when a company is not already in your customer list.

### Before you begin

Creating a customer is limited to Zephyr Intel staff accounts. If your account does not have this access, Signal shows an error when you try to save.

### Steps

1. On the customer list, click **New Customer**.
2. Optional: upload a logo. Click or drag a file into the logo area. Signal accepts PNG, JPEG, GIF, SVG, or WebP files up to 2MB.
3. Enter the **Company Name**. This is the only required field.
4. Optional: enter the company's **Street**, **City**, **State**, **Postal Code**, and **Country**. Country defaults to **United States**; you can also choose **Canada** or **Mexico**.
5. Click **Create Customer**. The button reads **Creating...** while the customer saves.

### What you see

Signal creates the new customer as a customer of your organization, and its card appears on the customer list. Until you add a facility, the customer's page shows one default facility named after the company.

### Notes

* If the company name is blank, **Create Customer** stays disabled.
* If saving fails, Signal shows the error it received, or **"Failed to create customer. Please try again."**
