# Record Asset Properties

Record how an asset is built and sealed, so a technician has what they need before opening it up.

### Steps

1. Open the **Technical** tab.
2. Click **Edit** on the **Asset Properties** card.
3. Enter or update values.
4. Click **Save**. While Signal is saving, the button reads "Saving…".

### Fields

**Material of Construction** always shows. The rest appear only when they have a value, unless you switch on **Show all fields**:

* Impeller Type, Impeller Diameter
* Mech Seal, Seal Config, Seal Rotating Face
* Flush Plans
* Shaft Type, Shaft Sleeve
* Frame
* Pump O-Rings
* Diffuser, Inducer
* Casing-Seal Housing
* Special Adders
* Notes

All of these are free text. **Notes** is a good place for anything that does not fit a specific field.

### Notes

* Only one card on the Technical tab can be in edit mode at a time.
* Signal only sends the fields you actually changed. Clearing a field and saving removes the value.
