# Why an asset shows no orders

An empty Orders tab does not always mean nothing was ever sold for this asset. Signal shows "No order history for this asset." with the note "Order data will appear here once spare sales are logged or synced from ERP." in three situations.

### How Signal matches orders to an asset

Signal matches sales records to an asset by serial number, ignoring case and extra spaces. It also rolls up spare-part sales that were logged against a parent pump's serial number, so a spare sold against a pump still counts toward that pump's order history even when the sale did not name the part's own serial.

If a sale was logged with a serial number that does not match this asset at all, for example a typo or a different unit's serial, it will not appear here.

### When there is genuinely nothing to show

If your organization's sales data has not been connected, this area shows the empty-state text above and stays empty until that connection is in place. Ask your Zephyr Intel contact if you expect order history and do not see it.
