# Read the maintenance summary

Signal shows maintenance status in two places on the asset: the **Maintenance Due** card at the top, and the **Maintenance** section on the Overview tab.

### Maintenance Due card

| Element | What it shows |
| ---------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Main value | How far away the next maintenance is due: "Today", a number of days ("{n}d"), a number of months ("{n}mo"), or how overdue it is ("{n}d overdue"). Shows "—" when there is no plan. |
| Sub-text | "Overdue" when maintenance is past due, "On track" when a plan exists and is not overdue, "No schedule" when there is no plan at all. |

For some organizations this card is clickable and opens a Maintenance tab. For others it is informational only. This feature may not be enabled for your organization.

### Overview tab

The Overview tab's **Maintenance** section shows more detail:

* With a plan: the plan's name, then its frequency and next due date, for example "Quarterly · Next due: Mar 15, 2027".
* Without a plan: "No maintenance schedule for this asset."

Some organizations also see the line "Apply a maintenance template to generate a schedule." under that message. This is informational only; there is no control on this line, or anywhere else in Signal today, to apply a template.
