# Find a part in a large BOM

Use search to jump to a specific part instead of scrolling a long parts list.

A search box appears above the table once the BOM has 10 or more parts. Type into it to filter.

### Steps

1. Click the search box labeled **Filter by part number or description…**.
2. Type any part of the part number or the description. The search is not case-sensitive.
3. Read the count next to the box, for example "3/48", to see how many parts match out of the total.
4. Click the **×** in the box to clear your search and show every part again.

### What you see

Matching text is highlighted in the Description column. If a parent assembly matches, all of its children stay visible even if they do not match. If a child part matches, its parent assemblies stay visible so you can see where it sits in the tree.

If nothing matches, the table shows "No parts matching "{your search}"" in place of the rows.
