# Verify a customer's view with simulation

Use simulation to confirm a change actually works for the customer before you consider the ticket closed.

Who can do this: Zephyr staff only.

### Steps

1. Make the change: update the user's permissions or products, or grant something to their organization.
2. Find the affected user in **User Management** and click **Simulate user**.
3. Go to the page or feature you changed and check it behaves the way you expect. For example, if you added the **create** permission, confirm **New Asset** now appears; if you granted a product to their organization, confirm the related page or nav item now appears for this user.
4. If something is still missing, check whether it depends on a setting your Zephyr contact needs to confirm is enabled for that organization.
5. Click **Stop simulation** when you are done.

### Notes

* Simulation shows you what the user's account can access. It does not show you their actual data connections, such as whether their sales data is connected; a simulated view of that area shows the same empty-state message the customer would see if it isn't.
* Always compare against the specific user affected by the change, not a different user in the same organization; permissions are per-user, not per-organization.
