# Offboard and reactivate an organization

Hide an organization from active workflows, or bring an offboarded organization back.

Who can do this: Zephyr staff only.

### Before you begin

Find the organization first. See [Find an organization](/administration-zephyr-staff/organizations-tab/find-an-organization.md).

### Steps to offboard

1. With the organization loaded, find **Lifecycle** in the overview.
2. Click **Offboard**. This button is disabled if the organization's status is already **merged**.
3. In the confirmation dialog, type the organization's short name exactly as shown, case-sensitive, then click **Offboard** again.

### Steps to reactivate

1. Load an organization whose status is **offboarded**.
2. Click **Reactivate**.
3. In the confirmation dialog, type the organization's short name exactly as shown, case-sensitive, then click **Reactivate** again.

### What you see

The status pill on the overview changes to **offboarded** or back to **active**, and a confirmation message names the organization.

Offboarding marks an organization offboarded and hides it from active workflows. It does not delete anything, and **Reactivate** reverses it.

### Notes

* A **merged** organization cannot be offboarded.
