# Grant Signal or Portals to an organization (Upgrade)

Grant an organization access to Signal, Portals, or both. Use this when a customer organization needs a new product turned on.

Who can do this: Zephyr staff only.

### Before you begin

Find the organization first. See [Find an organization](/administration-zephyr-staff/organizations-tab/find-an-organization.md).

### Steps

1. With the organization loaded, find the **Products** field in the overview.
2. Type the products the organization should have, separated by commas, for example `portals, signal`. This replaces the list shown, so include every product the organization should keep.
3. Click **Upgrade**.
4. In the confirmation dialog, type the organization's short name exactly as shown, case-sensitive, then click **Upgrade** again.

### What you see

A success message reports the new product list along with two counts: how many facilities were reowned and how many continuity grants were created as part of the upgrade.

### Notes

* The typed confirmation asks for the organization's short name, not its display name.
* This action only grants products to the organization. It does not grant Signal to any individual user; use [Grant products to a user (Elevate)](/administration-zephyr-staff/user-management-tab/grant-products-to-a-user-elevate.md) for that.
